Finding Just the Right Place to Call Home!

Finding Just the Right Place to Call Home!

Here are a few questions to consider as you’re developing your home search wish list…

* Your Ideal Location?
Would you like to live along a commute route or walking distance to your office? Near family or friends? Close to shopping, parks, centers of recreation, or other activities important to you?

* Are Schools Important to Your Search?
You might be considering public or private schools for children, or the educational opportunities of colleges and universities.

* The Size and Style of Your Home?
Let us know about which features are among your highest priorities in a floor plan. The number of bedrooms and baths? Are you hoping for a garden-style home with one-level living or a townhome? Are there any design elements that are especially important to you… You may be thinking of a modern open concept floor plan, or perhaps you’re dreaming of a home with separate formal living and dining rooms. What do you enjoy most about time in the kitchen? Are you hoping for an owner’s bedroom suite with a sitting area? A master or guest suite on the main level? Some homes include living space extras such as sun rooms, bonus or flex spaces. Other homes feature open air exterior decks or walk-out level patios. Would you like a yard area? What are your thoughts about parking?

* Preferences for Community Amenities?
Community amenities vary widely and might include gated access or other security features, swimming or lap pools, tennis courts, play grounds, designated pet walks or other green spaces, fire pits with sitting areas, a community clubhouse, and sometimes even a lake or other water feature. Some communities also include concierge services, business centers or media rooms, catering kitchens, guest suites, and more.

* Your Comfort Zone for Pricing?
Let us know where you’re comfortable for purchase price, and be sure to include an estimate for HOA fees in your number crunching. Mandatory dues are part of a homeowner’s financial commitment, and will be a part of any mortgage qualification. With this in mind, we want to be sure home buyers are considering these as part of the bigger financial picture.

We’re here to help, and look forward to speaking with you about the home you’re hoping to call your own!
